    Daniel,

You are truly beautiful. It was enlightening watching this video. šŸ™‚

Hi Lurie. I have a similar hair type as yours (dare I say it more than 4c type, 4…..z?). I’m trying to figure out other styles to do with and products to use on my hair. After 10+ years of two-strand twists my hair is at a standstill and will not grow. What products do you use? Also, do you have tips for how to select a stylist for consultations (I’m in BK, NY if this helps)?

    Thank you in advance.

    • Lurie Daniel Favors, Esq. says:

Hi Tiffanie! Let’s hear it for Kinky, Coily Hair! Personally I’m not really tied to a particular product…other than coconut oil, EVOO or products along that vein. I would DEFINITELY suggest that you speak with a professional natural hair stylist in order to get some tips for continued hair growth. One thing I’ve learned is that my diet, stress levels and other physiological issues can TOTALLY impact my hair health and growth. I’m in BK, NY too and the stylist I go to (have whom I’ve been w/ for YEARS) provides fantastic consultations. Her name is Adenike and we call her “The Natural Hair Whisperer.” Seriously – that woman is serious about hair CARE. You can reach her at 347.251.1212. Let her know what’s going on and see if you can get on her calendar for a consultation. If not her, then make sure whoever you see is someone more interested in hair care than hair styles. I’m actually going to post an article on tips for selecting a natural hair stylist in the next few weeks. I hope this helps. Be well!
